![]() ![]() I think it would make an interesting alternate line when I get tired of playing BBs (especially since IJN DD are getting axed very soon). There is room for player-controlled Subs in this game if implemented properly, make no mistake about it. A plane with AP bomb is bad news to subs tho. But should favor slower or larger targets such as CV (Dive to evade planes and use the 3 minutes to get as close as you want if you can), BB's, and maybe Russian non-maneuverable cruisers (Kirov and the likes). Submarines can hunt any ships in the game, as most of them had pretty good torpedoes. Submarines spawn in front of the fleet, making their low speed less of an issue, even on good maps, but should be passed by friendly DDs before they get to caps. HE is bad as it destroys modules, but a Sub cannot be set on fire. The submarines are a citadel as a whole. The deeper a sub could dive, the more detection bonus it gains against sonar making harder to be detected. ![]() T10 includes the first nuclear submarine for every nation. Long reload times but very high damage rolls. Forward/aft launcher with historical arc (The USN Balao-class had 6 front/4 aft tubes). Torpedoes 1 at a time like proposed for RN cruisers. Diving consumable (sorta like smoke) lasts 3 minutes or something, completely invisible, but sonar can reveal. Submarines are finally coming to World of Warships Get a look at them in action. No it's not realistic, but it would mean from 14-23kt speed for almost all branches. Keep them with their surface speed even submerged. The way I see submarine being implemented properly : ![]()
